Board Positions

President

  • Preside over meetings following Robert’s Rule of Order
  • Oversee day-to-day Association business activities
  • Coordinate meeting agendas
  • Sign/execute/deliver authorized contracts/instruments for the Association which the Board of Directors has approved
  • Preside over the Annual Meeting
  • Act as Community Affairs Liaison
  • Assume the office of Past President following their year as President
  • Attend 1/2 of social networking events each month

PRESIDENT-ELECT

  • Assume the Office of the President the following year
  • Prepare for their year as President by assisting the current President
  • Coordinate annual awards banquet
  • Attend 1/2 of social networking events each month

VICE-PRESIDENT

  • Assume the Office of President-elect the following year
  • Preside over meetings in the President’s absence Recruit new members for committees
  • Attend 1/2 of social networking events each month

SECRETARY

  • Record and keep minutes of meetings
  • Keep minutes of committee meetings when presented at a Board meeting
  • Send notice of meetings to members
  • Process Correspondence
  • Attend 1/2 of social networking events each month

TREASURER

  • Deposit income, write checks, and mail payments
  • Record and report incomes and expenses through QuickBooks
  • Report Association financial data to the Board of Directors
  • Keep a record of transactions
  • Oversee reserve funds
  • Attend 1/2 of social networking events each month

PAST PRESIDENT

  • Preside over meetings in place of absent President and Vice President
  • Special Advisor to President
  • Robert’s Rule of Order Mediator, By-Law Mediator
  • Election Chairperson

SPONSORSHIP CHAIR

  • Generates sponsorship dollars for MBA
  • Soliciting other organizations or businesses in the community for sponsorship and advertising opportunities
  • Manages the delivery of sponsorship benefits
  • Develops, maintains, and utilizes media contacts
  • Creates ways to promote MBA in the community
  • Attend 1/2 of social networking events each month
  • Other duties as assigned

MEMBER AT LARGE – MEMBERSHIP

  • Oversee the following Committee Chairs: Ambassadors, Elections, Expo, Ribbon Cutting
  • Interact with all committee chairs and Committee members
  • Assist with recruitment of members for committees
  • Oversee Committee Budgets
  • Acts as the MBA Liaison at MBCF Board Meetings

MEMBER AT LARGE – NETWORKING

  • Oversee the following Committee Chairs: Networking, Referral Groups, Marketing, Annual Awards Banquet
  • Interact with all committee chairs and Committee members
  • Assist with recruitment of members for committees
  • Oversee Committee Budgets

MEMBER AT LARGE – COMMUNITY

  • Oversee the following Committee Chairs: Community Engagement Council (CEC), Millard Days, and Ribstock
  • Interact with all committee chairs and Committee members
  • Assist with recruitment of members for committees
  • Oversee Committee Budgets

Committees

Ambassadors

Responsible for introducing members to the organization, encouraging involvement in committees, referral groups, and events, serving as the member point of contact, and more.

Election / Committee Fair

Organizes the following main goals of the annual election event:

  • Annual Membership Group Photo
  • Elections
  • Committee Fair

MBA Expo

Coordinates the following responsibilities of the annual business fair:

  • Venue
  • Sponsorship
  • Booth Registration
  • Vendor Opportunities
  • Entertainment
  • Setup/Teardown

Ribbon Cutting

Coordinates the following responsibilities for a successful Ribbon Cutting event:

  • Coordinates Date and Location
  • Advises How to Host a Successful Event
  • Provides Ribbon and Scissors

Annual Awards Banquet

Coordinates the following responsibilities of banquet planning:

  • Sponsorships
  • Decorations
  • Entertainment
  • Silent Auction

Marketing

This committee generates awareness for the MBA and it’s happenings, through:

  • Weekly Newsletter
  • Social Media Content
  • Website Management
  • Manage & Organize Creative Assets

Networking

Organize and manage the monthly After Hours and Bagels & Business.

  • Books Hosts
  • Advises How to Host a Successful Event
  • Coordinates Location

Community Engagement Council (CEC)

Provides and coordinates opportunities to participate in civic events:

  • Lunch & Learns
  • Community Forums
  • Millard Public Schools Engagement
  • Additional Activities

Millard Days

Organizes the following events and activities during this annual community festival:

  • Beer Tent (Opening Night)
  • Parade (Float)
  • Family Fun and Safety Day
  • Run the MBA Booth

Ribstock

Coordinates the following responsibilities of the annual BBQ festival and fundraiser:

  • Venue
  • Vendors
  • Sponsorship/Fundraising
  • Bartenders
  • MBA Booth
  • Setup/Teardown

Golf Scramble

Responsible for coordinating the following tasks:

  • Registration
  • Sponsorship/Fundraising
  • Venue
  • Food
